Will currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Sanford Regional Economic Growth Council and has served as an officer/chair of the Economic Development Council of Maine, Pine Tree State Certified Development Corporation, and York County Community College Foundation boards of directors. Additionally, Will has served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Community Development Advisory Council, as well as other local community committees and was elected to the Falmouth Town Council for two terms. He is a graduate of the Leadership Maine Program and a recipient of the Finance Authority of Maine Dirigo Award.
Will joined the Southern Maine Finance Agency (formerly Biddeford Saco Area Economic Development Corporation), in February of 1996 and is responsible for the overall management/administration and operation of the corporation and its staff; including loan program administration, portfolio management, marketing, business development, strategic planning, financial and budget management and grant administration as well as development of new finance programs. Prior to joining the agency, Mr. Armitage was the commercial loan officer for the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council serving the Cities of Lewiston and Auburn and held various positions with the Retail Banking Department of Casco Northern Bank, then Bank of Boston. He has served as an instructor for the Economic Development Council of Maine and Grant Management Systems, given lectures on Economic Development Financing at the Muskie School at the University of Maine and participated in seminars in Biddeford-Saco and York County.
Troy joined the staff of Southern Maine Finance Agency in 2019. He has worked in financial services for 17 years, beginning his banking career as a Relationship Associate with KeyBank. Before joining SMFA, he was a Business Banker at Gorham Savings Bank. Troy takes pride in delivering exceptional service to his clients.
Troy served on the board of directors for the Scarborough Community Chamber of Commerce, Vice-Chair of the 55+ Programs for the Town of Scarborough, advisory board member of Money Minders, and was past “distinguished President” of Scarborough Kiwanis. Troy is also a Notary Public in the State of Maine.
Troy is bilingual speaking French and spent a semester abroad in France and hopes to return to France in the future. Troy is currently working on obtaining his Economic Development Finance Professional Certification with The National Development Council.
Wayne is a talented business professional with a successful career in the banking industry. He most recently held the position of AVP, Senior Business Banking Officer at NBT Bank. In this position, he was responsible for acquiring and growing business banking relationships throughout the Maine market, assisting with the day-to-day operations of the bank, and supporting clients in PPP loan funding and forgiveness requests. Before joining NBT Bank, Wayne worked as a VP, Business Relationship Manager at People’s United Bank and a Business Relationship Manager at Citizens Bank, where he oversaw and deepened business banking and borrowing relationships, as well as provided banking solutions to clients.
In addition to his career in banking, Wayne is also a musician and performer. He is the co-founder and frontman of the Massachusetts-based band Drunk in July, which has released two albums. He has also released two solo albums. He is currently in the process of composing a third album to be recorded and released in 2023. Wayne has performed for over 20 years, and continues to do so at a variety of venues across the Northeast.
In his personal life, Wayne enjoys spending time with his wife, Karen, and their two children, reading, writing, traveling, and participating in outdoor activities. He and his family moved to Arundel, Maine in 2016, and he is an active member of several local organizations.
